Illinois volleyball outside hitter Raina Terry guided the Fighting Illini to a 1-1 weekend against high-caliber competition at the Hyatt Place Invitational. Terry recorded back-to-back double-doubles and became the program's leader in career aces during that two-match span.
Terry led the way with 17 kills, 12 digs, and four aces in the Illini's four-set loss to No. 24 Dayton on Friday afternoon, but Illinois bounced back with a 3-1 win against Western Kentucky, which received votes in last week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. Terry added another double-double on Saturday against the Hilltoppers with 19 kills and 14 digs.
Terry is a graduate student pursuing her master's degree in recreation, sport, and tourism.
