Illinois kicker David Olano achieved a perfect 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts against No. 19 Kansas, aiding the Fighting Illini in securing a 23-17 victory over the Jayhawks at Memorial Stadium on September 7. Olano successfully kicked from distances of 23, 43, and 50 yards, with the latter setting a new career-long for him. He also completed both of his PATs.
Olano, originally from Naperville, Illinois, is a sophomore majoring in recreation, sport, and tourism during the Fall 2024 semester. This accolade marks the second consecutive week that an Illinois football student-athlete has been named the Prairie Farms Scholar Athlete of the Week. Previously, running back Kaden Feagin was honored for his performance in Illinois' 45-0 win over EIU on August 29.
This recognition is Olano's first Prairie Farms Scholar Athlete of the Week award.
