A home-and-home series between the Illinois women's basketball team and the Florida State Seminoles has been confirmed, with the first game set to open the 2024-25 season for the Illini.
Illinois will host Florida State on Thursday, Nov. 7, at State Farm Center. The return trip to Tallahassee is scheduled for the 2025-26 season.
The 2024 matchup will be the third meeting in the all-time series between these programs. They last met during the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in the 2021-22 season. FSU leads the series, 2-0, with their first encounter taking place in 1990.
Coached by Brooke Wyckoff, Florida State achieved a 23-11 record last season, including a 12-6 mark in ACC play. The Seminoles advanced to the ACC Tournament semifinals and participated in the NCAA Tournament.
The Fighting Illini are coming off winning the inaugural WBIT championship last season and securing a 19-15 record, including five straight wins to close out their campaign. Illinois returns a core that includes four of last year's starters, more than 81% of minutes played, and nearly 85% of scoring.
