City of Urbana Foreign Fire Tax Board met Aug. 6

A. Call to Order and Roll Call
Called to order at 0733 hours
Members present: Lane, Prendergast, Dade, Jarvis, Thomas
B. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting
Minutes read. Dade motions to approve, Lane seconds. Motion carries.
C. Approval of Treasurer's Report
Checking: $15,859.98. Money Market: $38,536.12. Total: $54,396.10. Dade motions to approve, Lane seconds. Motion carries.
D. Public Input

E. Unfinished Business
1. Washer and dryer for station 1
The City does not want to install a washer and dryer on the second floor of station 1. The City would like to wait for the facility master plan. Dade will meet with the City to discuss.
F. New Business
1. Water cooler for station 1
The cost to install a water cooler with drain is about the same as a bottle filler. Thomas will look into the cost of a portable water cooler and have water delivered.
2. Forcible Entry Door
Lane motions to approve $10,500 to purchase a forcible entry training door. Dade seconds. Motion carries.
3. Elevator Rescue Training
More information is needed to determine an actual cost. No action taken.
4. Blue Card Training
Lane motions to spend $8,500 from the training line item to enroll all Battalion Chiefs, Captains, Lieutenants, and Engineers on the LT eligibility list to the Blue Card "8 Functions of Command" online training program. The practical portion of the course will be delivered using department Blue Card Certified TTTs. Thomas seconds. Motion carries.
G. Board Input and Communications
Discussed earmarking remaining funds for chair replacement next year.
