Illinois Softball head coach Tyra Perry announced the addition of London Park to the Fighting Illini softball squad for the 2025 campaign. Originally part of the Class of 2025, Park intends to reclassify and join the program for the upcoming season.
London Park hails from Spring, Texas, where she attended Spring High School and played for the Texas Bombers. As a right-handed pitcher standing at 5-9, Park is a three-year letter winner with a record that includes a 3.10 ERA over 160.1 innings pitched. She recorded 186 strikeouts and achieved a 20-10 high school record in the circle. Park was named All-District for three consecutive seasons.
Park is the daughter of Jason and Malisa Park and has two siblings, Matthew and Jayla. Her sister Jayla played softball at Tulsa. London will join her travel ball teammate Taylor Porter at Illinois.
Coach Perry expressed enthusiasm about Park's addition: "We are excited to welcome London Park to the program. London's drop ball, paired with the ability to seamlessly change speeds, will help her compete at a high level in the Big Ten. She was part of the 18U Texas Bombers, who secured the Alliance Fastpitch Championship this summer in Indianapolis. London has grown in leaps and bounds under the tutelage of Cat Osterman, and we are proud she chose Illinois."
Park cited several reasons for choosing Illinois: "I chose Illinois because of the diversity, the culture and the family-like environment within the softball program."
