The Big Ten Conference has announced the attendees for its 2024 Volleyball Media Days, scheduled to take place on August 5-6 at the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago.

Fighting Illini head coach Chris Tamas will be accompanied by Raina Terry and Caroline Barnes at the annual event. Terry will represent Illinois volleyball for a second consecutive season, while Barnes will make her debut appearance.

Terry, a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Northeast All-Region selection and a two-time All-Big Ten First Team honoree, ranks 10th all-time with 1,634 career kills. The Marengo, Ohio native is positioned between AVCA All-America honorable mention Megan Cooney and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Michelle Bartsch-Hackley in the Illini history books. Additionally, Terry is fourth all-time with 164 career aces. In 2023, she was the only player in the Big Ten with over 1,500 kills and 150 aces and became the first Big Ten player to log over 500 kills for the season. On her Senior Day, Terry announced she would return for her final year of eligibility in 2024.

Barnes enters her senior season after serving as libero for the past two years. The Naperville, Ill., native has accumulated 883 career digs with a 2.64 digs-per-set average during her time at Illinois. She has posted over 20 digs in seven matches, four of which occurred last year. Excelling both on the court and academically, Barnes has earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District distinctions for the past two years.

Nine Big Ten Conference volleyball programs—Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin—will gather at the Big Ten Network studios on Monday, August 5 for interview sessions and other creative content opportunities to preview the upcoming volleyball season. The remaining nine programs—Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, UCLA, USC and Washington—will follow a similar schedule on Tuesday August 6.
