Fighting Illini men's golfers Jackson Buchanan and Ryan Voois have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large list, as announced by the association on Tuesday, June 25.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, nominees must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50, complete one full calendar year at their current institution, and be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically. Additionally, golfers must participate in at least 70 percent of team scoring events.

Buchanan and Voois are also finalists for CSC Academic All-America honors and will advance to the national ballot for voting by CSC members.

Buchanan, an Operations Management major, was recognized as a third-team GCAA All-American and Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Year. He was also a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection this season. Competing in all 13 of the team's stroke play events, Buchanan finished with the Illini's second-best stroke average of 70.92. He was runner-up at the Big Ten Championship and claimed medalist honors at two events during the regular season: the Purdue Fall Invitational and the Duck Invitational. Buchanan posted eight top-10 finishes and tied for the team lead with 12 sub-70 rounds this year. He ranked second on the squad with 20 rounds of par or better and was the Illini's top finisher in four events.

Voois, a Finance major, had a breakout sophomore year that included his first collegiate win at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate. He earned GCAA All-America honorable mention and second-team All-Big Ten honors while playing in all 13 stroke play events, including 12 in the lineup. Voois led the Illini as their top finisher at both the Flyer Invitational (T4) in October and the Hal Williams Collegiate (T4) in February. During postseason play, he tied for 10th at the NCAA Stanford Regional and tied for 11th at the NCAA Championship to earn a spot on the 15-member All-Championship team. Voois ranked fifth on the team with a stroke average of 71.63 and was third on the team in rounds in the 60s (12) and rounds at par or better (18).

Both Buchanan and Voois have also received Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors this season.
