MicroSurfacing Contractors LLC has announced that the 2024 Slurry Seal Project will kick off on Monday, May 6, 2024, in the southwest one-third of Champaign. The company stated that residential streets in the area will be closed for approximately four hours during the sealing process. Moreover, heavily traveled streets and those with businesses will maintain at least one open lane throughout the project.
Residents in the affected areas will receive door flyers a day before the street closures, advising them to park their cars outside the work zone if necessary. Additionally, a reminder was issued not to park on streets marked with "No Parking" signs between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on workdays. The project is expected to last about two weeks, subject to weather conditions, with no work scheduled for weekends.
The initiative aims to enhance the infrastructure of Champaign, ensuring the longevity and quality of the road network in the city. Residents and businesses are encouraged to cooperate with the temporary inconveniences caused by the construction activities for the overall improvement of the community's transportation system.
