Residential Fire on W. Windsor Rd.: Two Occupants Injured, Cause Under Investigation

The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire inside a home in the 4800 block of W. Windsor Rd., Monday, April 15, at 2:37 a.m. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Firefighters responded to a neighbor’s report of fire coming from the residence. Once on the scene, firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the mobile home. The two occupants were outside at the time the Fire Department arrived, suffering from burns. Firefighters provided medical attention to the occupants and deployed multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire.

"The cause of this fire has not been determined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation," said the Fire Department.

"There were no firefighter injuries reported," mentioned the Fire Department. "The occupants were treated on scene and transported to a local hospital."

"The home was heavily damaged by the fire," confirmed the Fire Department.
