The Champaign County Community Coalition convened their monthly meeting on April 10th, 2024, at the Holiday Inn. The gathering featured engaging discussions focused on youth perspectives and aspirations for programming within the community.

During the meeting, two youth panels took center stage, delving into both the current offerings and desired opportunities for programming. Tracy Parsons guided the discussions by posing questions that aimed to showcase the participants' appreciation for existing programs. However, the most notable aspect of the panel conversations was the valuable feedback provided by students regarding the activities and engagement they wish to see implemented.

The panel comprised individuals from various youth programs, such as Operation Hope, Youth for Christ, Urbana Neighborhood Connections Center, and the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club, all actively participating in the dialogue.

The insights shared by the young participants shed light on the importance of considering youth perspectives in shaping community programs and activities. By actively involving youth in these discussions, the Champaign County Community Coalition demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness to the needs and desires of the younger generation.

As the coalition continues its efforts to enhance community engagement and equity, the input gathered from these youth panels serves as a valuable resource for future programming decisions. The diverse representation from different youth programs underscores the collaborative spirit and shared goal of empowering the youth within Champaign County.

Overall, the April meeting of the Champaign County Community Coalition not only provided a platform for youth voices to be heard but also emphasized the significance of incorporating their perspectives into the community's initiatives and endeavors.
