The Champaign County Community Coalition is set to prioritize the voices of local youth in an upcoming meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, 2024. The event will commence at 3:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Champaign, where various youth representatives from organizations such as Youth for Christ – Midnight Basketball, DREAAM, Urbana Park District, Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club, and others will share their insights on youth activities, training, and programming.

Tracy Parsons, the Facilitator of the Champaign County Community Coalition, emphasized the significance of youth development within the Coalition, stating, “Youth development is a core priority of the Coalition. We are committed to providing local youth with the necessary resources and programming that best serves them. Providing a space for youth to speak directly to leaders of youth-focused organizations and the greater Champaign-Urbana community, offers them an opportunity to share their perspectives on what they need to be successful.”

The Community Coalition meetings are open to the public, and attendees can also enjoy light refreshments during the session. This initiative aims to gather valuable insights from the youth community to better inform and engage community leaders in addressing the needs and aspirations of the local youth population.
