On April 5, 2024, Community Relations Manager, Janel Gomez, attended a symposium for the Chancellor’s Call to Action to Address Racism & Social Injustice. The event showcased various projects sponsored by Chancellor Robert J. Jones' $2 million annual commitment to research racism and social injustice. Among the projects presented was the Evaluation of the LIFT Champaign Program, a collaboration between Champaign Unit 4 Schools and the City of Champaign, focusing on supporting African American youth and their families facing academic and personal challenges.
