Amid efforts to enhance the City of Champaign's procurement process and promote diversity, a recent breakfast event for prime contractors garnered significant attention. The event, organized by the City’s Equity and Engagement Department in collaboration with the Finance Department, aimed to provide contractors with valuable insights into working with the City.

During the event, more than 30 attendees had the opportunity to share their contracting experiences, engage in a survey, and gain knowledge about best practices for procurement within the City. The breakfast session, held on March 29, 2024, was part of a series of initiatives designed to simplify the contracting process with the City of Champaign.

Expressing enthusiasm about the event's turnout, a representative stated, "We were thrilled to see participation from so many vendors, multiple City departments, and City Council." The event's success underscores the City's commitment to fostering collaboration and transparency in its procurement procedures.
