The March 13, 2024, Champaign County Community Coalition meeting at the Wyndham Garden Conference Center in Urbana brought together various organizations to share updates and initiatives with the community.

The City of Champaign Neighborhood Services Department announced the upcoming Champaign Neighborhood Network Conference and Campaign scheduled for May 17th, 2024. The department highlighted that the conference would feature workshops from local resource organizations and governmental departments aimed at sharing information relevant to neighborhoods throughout the community.

Rotary International presented insights into their mission and the eight actions they undertake to promote peace. They emphasized the importance of access to information, healthy relationships with neighbors, and providing resources for residents to be self-sustainable. Additionally, updates on local Rotary clubs' activities and upcoming events were shared.

League of Women Voters discussed voting registration options for the upcoming election and introduced their student ambassador program, designed to assist peers in registering to vote. Walk as One announced the coordination of the MLK March for Peace on April 4th, 2024, at King Park, Urbana, as an opportunity for the community to gather and share information in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Furthermore, during the meeting, the Stop the Violence program revealed plans for an upcoming meeting in June, the Don Moyers Boys and Girls club announced the acceptance of registrations for summer programming, and the Youth Assessment Center reiterated their acceptance of referrals for youth programs.

The coalition meeting served as a platform for various organizations to showcase ongoing efforts and upcoming events aimed at engaging and supporting the community in different ways.
