The City of Champaign is seeking professional engineering and architectural services through a qualification-based selection process. The city has invited firms to submit a Letter of Interest for Rapid Response Engineering and Architectural Services, with the intention of procuring these services for a period of three years, starting in 2024 and running through 2026.

The services required involve providing "on-call" response to engineering and architectural issues associated with the design and construction of development projects, facility projects, and public infrastructure within the City of Champaign. The projects will include the development of City facility projects such as the Police Station, six Fire Stations, City Building, Public Works Center, and other auxiliary facilities in the city's portfolio.

The selected architect will be responsible for facilitating facility expansions, upgrades, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with building codes and recommendations from the City staff and consultants. This will include managing the maintenance and replacement of major facility components, such as MEP systems, building envelopes, and parking lots, on recommended schedules. The anticipated timeframe for completing this work is from January 2024 to December 2026.

Interested firms are encouraged to review the detailed requirements and guidelines outlined in the Letter of Interest. The City of Champaign will be using a qualification-based selection process, in accordance with City of Champaign Administrative Policy 2.08.

This opportunity presents a chance for engineering and architectural firms to contribute to the development and enhancement of Champaign's infrastructure. The selected firm will play a crucial role in ensuring the city's facilities are well-maintained and meet the highest standards of design and functionality.

The City of Champaign is committed to promoting transparency and fairness in its procurement processes. By utilizing a qualification-based selection process, the city aims to ensure that the chosen firm possesses the necessary expertise and experience to effectively address the engineering and architectural needs of the city's projects.
