On June 22, 2023, Rachel Joy, Equity and Engagement Director, was one of 3 virtual panelists for the Welcoming Communities Conference held in person at the Gering Civic Center in Gering, Nebraska. She was joined by the Community Outreach Specialist for the City of Grand Forks, North Dakota who is also a professor at the University of North Dakota and the Director of the City of Minneapolis Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs. The panel title was: Equity & Inclusion in Municipals via Strategic Community Outreach. The conference included 7 workshop sessions and a keynote address. This was the first conference in the region.
