Even though energy prices are on a nationwide rollercoaster ride, many Danville residents pay less than half for their power than other communities nearby because they participate in the Homefield Energy Municipal Aggregation program.

This municipal aggregation program enables Danville and other participating Illinois communities to purchase energy at a lower rate through bulk buying. With the secured rate, Danville residents in the program pay 5.048 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh). For comparison, those in the current Ameren price to compare (PTC) pay 12.7 cents per kWh—more than double the Homefield Energy rate.

“This Homefield Energy Municipal Aggregation is a great example of government helping people through tough times,” says Danville Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. “Energy customers will have stable, low rates, which is a relief in today’s energy marketplace.”

There’s even better news for Danville residents and businesses participating in the municipal aggregation program: That low rate is locked in until December 2023. Such rate stability protects Danville residents from unpredictable fluctuations in the energy market through the winter, summer and fall.

Even those not currently in the municipal aggregation program can benefit through the rest of the year by signing up. Danville residents who are not enrolled in the Homefield Energy Municipal Aggregation program can sign up anytime by calling 844-351-7691, emailing DESCustCare@vistraenergy.com or visiting the enrollment page for more information.
