Sen. Scott Bennett (D-Champaign) recently took to Facebook to wish his constituents a spooky Halloween.
“Wishing you and your family a safe and spooky holiday,” Bennett wrote on Facebook.
Bennett, a Democrat, is running uncontested in the general election.
In August, Bennett shared information about grants for wastewater treatment plants. Three Illinois public wastewater treatment plants received Illinois Environmental Protection Agency grants for upgrades for energy efficiency. “Investing in our aging water infrastructure benefits both public health and the environment,” Bennett said. “This funding is a significant stride toward helping our communities become more eco-friendly by producing suitable water for residents.”
In May, he congratulated Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson on her selection to the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Congratulations to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on her confirmation to the Supreme Court! Her leadership, strength and brilliance are shining examples of qualities we need on the highest court in the federal judiciary of the United States. This is truly a historic moment," Bennett posted.
This summer, he formed a book club for youths in the 52nd District to help them stay entertained and keep their minds sharp for the summer. "Reading through the summer months keeps young minds engaged. I encourage students to be proactive and participate in my summer book club," Bennett wrote in a Facebook post. Students had to read a minimum of eight books to get a gift card and a certificate from Bennett.
