State Sen. Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) is asking Illinoisans to support the Illinois State Police by voting in a nationwide calendar contest.
The American Association of State Troopers (AAST) is looking for the top 13 state police cruisers that it will feature in its 2023 calendar. Proceeds from the calendar sales go toward the AAST’s scholarship fund.
“Help the Illinois State Police win ‘Americas Best Looking Cruiser’!” Barickman said in a Facebook post. “The 9th Annual AAST 'America's Best Looking Cruiser' calendar contest is underway!”
Barickman, who has been in the State Senate since 2012, then added particulars about the contest and a link to the online voting site.
Voting runs through Thursday. The survey site includes pictures of all the competition.
The cover photo for the calendar will feature the top vote-getter.
The AAST is a nonprofit organization that works to unite and assist state troopers from all 50 states. Its website lists one of its better-known projects as its scholarship program.
