POLICE TO GREET STUDENTS ON FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

The Police Department is partnering with Danville Public Schools for a “Back 2 Back” initiative to show students that police officers have their back during the new school year. Police officers will be at the schools on Monday, Aug. 8, to greet students as they head back to the classroom.

Here is the school schedule:

  • Bonner – 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Westwood – 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Rise Academy/Langston – 7 a.m. to 7:25 a.m.
  • Woodberry – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Schoolfield – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Park Avenue – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Johnson – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Forest Hill – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Gibson – 7:40 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Grove Park – 8 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.
  • Northside – 8:05 a.m. to 8:25 a.m.
  • GW – 7:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
  • Galileo – 7:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
Also, officers will be at W.W. Moore Juvenile Detention Center from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.
