Lab visits now by appointment at Carle Champaign-Urbana area locations

6

As the leading healthcare system in the region, Carle Health is committed to continually making improvements to better the experience of patients and community members. To reduce wait times, increase access and improve efficiencies, beginning Monday, June 6 all Laboratory visits in the Champaign-Urbana area must be scheduled by appointment.

“We know getting labs drawn can sometimes be uncomfortable and we’re always looking for ways to try to improve visits for referred patients,” said Kayla Banks, PhD, RN, vice president of Diagnostic Services. “With this new approach to managing lab visits by appointment, we can reduce the potential wait time for patients so team members can better anticipate community need and patients can get in and get out more swiftly.”

Once referred by a provider, a patient can schedule an appointment in one of three ways:

  • Connect with your location patient service representative (PSR) when checking out from the referring appointment.
  • Visit the MyCarle Patient Portal and select the Lab location and time of choice.
  • Call (217) 383-3200 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Those currently referred for a lab will need to schedule time at a participating location starting Monday, June 6. The requirement to schedule appointments includes all lab referrals, including patients with ongoing lab needs.

Same day appointments are often available. Appointments can be made at the following locations:

  • Carle Champaign on Curtis
  • Carle Heart and Vascular Institute
  • Carle Mahomet
  • Carle Rantoul
  • Carle Urbana on Windsor
  • Carle Urbana South Clinic
