City of Urbana Foreign Fire Insurance Board met Feb. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. Call to Order: 0735: Members present: Prendergast, Lane, Lauss, Smith, Johnson 

2. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting: 

November minutes were read, no additions or corrections. Motion to approve: Lauss  Second: Smith. Motion carries. 

3. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report: 

Not available 

4. Public Input 

None 

5. Old Business 

a. Kitchen chairs Sta.1: No update 

b. Vacuum cleaners: Last one purchased for station 2 with extra filters 

c. Station 1 bay remodel: Wall is framed out. Still working on it. Neon sign has been paid  off. 

d. “Care packages”: Discussion ensued. No motion. 

e. Monitors: Still working with Ameren to see if they will purchase 1 monitor and if they will  calibrate them. 

f. Station 3 trees: Chief is still working with the City. 

g. Station 1 flooring: The City will not lay new flooring over the existing floor. The City has  put $45,000 in the UPW budget for a dorm remodel and flooring. 

6. New Business 

a. Mattresses and mattress covers: Mattresses are dirty and the covers are not waterproof. We  will table this item to get a solid number of how many mattresses need to be replaced.

Persons with disabilities needing special services or accommodations for this meeting should contact the City  of Urbana's Americans with Disabilities Coordinator at 384-2466. 

b. Station 1 lockers: Bid for lockers was $1230 per locker and there are 23 lockers for a total  of $27,600. Discussion about the City paying for a portion of the cost. Lane motions to  purchase lockers for station 1 up to $30,000 with the ability for Chief to approach the City  to pay a portion. Chief seconds. Motions carries. 

c. Washer and dryer project for station 1: Chief asked UPW about putting a washer and dryer in the North pole hole. They brought back a bid for $5500. Discussion ensued. Chief will  reach out to UPW to see if they will split the cost. Lane will try to get another bid. Will  bring back at the next meeting. 

7. For the Good of the Order 

Lane: Blackstone Griddles were purchased for all stations 

Prendergast: Need a humidifier for station 2 

Next meeting is May 3rd. 

8. Adjournment: 0815. Motion to adjourn: Lane, Second: Lauss. Motion carries.
