Report: Heritage School District spent $14,014 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Heritage Community Unit School District 8 was up 13.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Champaign County school district spent $12,332 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $14,014 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 474 to 388 students over the same period.

Heritage's spending in 2019-20 was 3.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
