Report: Hoopeston Area School District spent $12,417 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Hoopeston Area Community Unit School District 11 was up 17.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Vermilion County school district spent $10,607 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,417 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,289 to 1,140 students over the same period.

Hoopeston Area's spending in 2019-20 was 14.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
