Report: Bement School District spent $12,189 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bement Community Unit School District 5 was up 14.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Piatt County school district spent $10,637 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,189 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 335 to 287 students over the same period.

Bement's spending in 2019-20 was 15.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
