City of Monticello issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.
The City of Monticello will hold a closeout public hearing on April 26, 2021, at 7:00pm, in the Livingston Center, 224 E. Livingston Street, Monticello, to report outcomes and provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the program activities and performance of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Downstate Small Business Stabilization (DSBS) grants funded through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. This program is funded by Title 1 of the federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Callie McFarland, (210 N. Hamilton Street, Monticello, Illinois 61856, 217.762.2583) no later than April 21, 2021. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.
The total amount of funds awarded to address the needs of the businesses due to the COVID-19 emergency was $44,000; and was used to assist the following businesses with working capital needs: The Fitness Center and Fieldhouse 219, LLC.
All interested citizens are invited to provide comments either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to Callie McFarland, 210 N. Hamilton Street, Monticello, Illinois 61856, 217.762.2583, no later than 12pm on April 26, 2021, to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. This grant-funded project resulted in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
