RANTOUL AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Warming Shelter Available this Weekend (2/6-2/8)

Snowwalk

Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.

The Village of Rantoul will have a warming shelter available as the temperatures plunge into the single and minus digits this weekend.  If anyone needs a place to stay warm they are asked to call the Police Non-Emergency number at 333-8911.  Once a request is made, volunteers will get the Rantoul Youth Center open and ready in a short amount of time.

If you need immediate assistance, people can come to the lobby of the Rantoul Police Department until the Youth Center is ready.

Additional dates will be determined based on the weather forecast.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place so any persons seeking shelter will need to be pre-screened for symptoms and temperatures.  Masks and social distancing will also be mandatory while using the shelter.

Please stay warm and safe this weekend!
