Rantoul City School District 137 issued the following announcement on Nov. 8.
On November 6th we became aware that two employees at Eastlawn have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time one COVID-19 positive individual was in a school setting was Monday, November 2nd. There is possibly 1 other employee at another building who may be a close contact. The last time the other COVID-19 positive individual was in the school setting was Monday, November 2nd when no other staff or students were present. No Eastlawn students or staff may be at higher risk due to “close contact” with the persons diagnosed withCOVID-19.
On November 6th after school we became aware that one employee at Eater Jr High was diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time this person was in a school setting was Thursday, November 5th. There are no students or staff that may be at higher risk due to "close contact" with the persons diagnosed with COVID-19. But, because this employee is a classroom teacher, that classroom will move to full remote for 14 days from November 5th with a return date of November 20th. This is according to board metrics.
On November 8th we became aware of 2 JW Eater LEARN Academy students testing positive who attend volleyball drills. Parents have been contacted and we are still working on possible close contacts. Those students will stay home until determined if a close contact or not. Parents have been contacted. Upon return of volleyball drills, even more protocols will be put in place to ensure social distancing and safety.
