City of Gibson issued the following announcement on Sept. 4.
IDOT is closing RT 9-47 between 1st Street and 8th Street, STARTING MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 until the railroad crossing is rebuilt; possibly thru Friday, September 25th. Detoured traffic will run on west 8th and south Sangamon Ave.
This is being done now before harvest starts. State and City will work together to mark out Sangamon Ave / 8th street intersection again.
