Analysis: Hoopeston pays $3.49 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hoopeston Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.7 percent of the $180,746 the Hoopeston Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.49 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hoopeston contributed $140,496 to the fund, which saw a $3,659 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $40,250, or 22.3 percent, in 2018.
