Several Champaign, Urbana and area school districts have food distribution site plans in response to Illinois’ stay-at-home order due to COVID-19.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced Tuesday, March 31, plans to extend the stay-at-home order, suspending on-site learning in K-12 schools through the end of April.

Champaign Unit 4 Schools, Urbana School District 116 and Rantoul City Schools are among school districts with food distribution site plans, according to chambanamoms.com.

Champaign Unit 4 Schools’ drive-thru distribution sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays at Booker T. Washington, 606 E. Grove St.; Garden Hills Academy, 2001 Garden Hills Drive; and Jefferson Middle School, 1115 Crescent Drive, according to a release by the school.  

Urbana School District 116’s drive-up meal sites will continue from 10 a.m. to noon weekdays at Dr. Williams Elementary, 2102 E. Washington St., Urbana (front circle drive off Washington St.);  Dr. King Elementary, 1108 Fairview Ave. (Goodwin Circle Drive); Urbana High School, 1002 S. Race. St. (Door 9 on Tiger Lane off the gymnasium); and Yankee Ridge Elementary School, 2102 S. Anderson St. (circle drive off East Mumford Drive), according to their Facebook page. 

Rantoul City Schools will have a weekly distribution from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays at: Eater Junior High, 400 E. Wabash Ave. (behind the school up to the cafeteria door); Broadmeadow, 500 Sunview Road (under main entrance’s awning); Pleasant Acres, 1625 Short St. (circle drive on south side); Eastlawn, 650 N. Maplewood Drive (south side under awning); Northview, 400 N. Sheldon (main entrance on north side according to their Facebook page. 1048912255265403/.

Rantoul Township High School sites from 9 to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays include in front of the high school at 200 S. Sheldon St., Rantoul.
