Rantoul Township High School District 193 Finance Committee met July 18.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
1. Call to order
a. Ann Reale and Kelly Foster were present
2. Presentation of FY20 Tentative Budget
a. Superintendent Amerio presented information about the FY20 Budget
b. Revenue Determination
1. Tax levy remains the same
2. Base Funding minimum for Evidence-Based Funding from state. The District should receive more revenue through the tier distribution, but those numbers have not been released yet.
3. Revenue will be high this year due to the delay in the property tax revenue from FY19
c. Expenditure Determination
1. 3% increase for certified staff
2. 6% increase for non-certified staff
3. 20% increase in Healthcare costs
4. Several new non-certified positions included in budget (special education, guidance, and nurse)
d. Overall budget shows a surplus in all operating funds with strong expected ending balances
e. Board members Reale and Foster asked questions about specific line items and what they mean and what would be some examples of the expenditures for those items.
f. Superintendent Amerio stated that he would present the FY20 budget to the full board at the August 5th meeting.
