Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unified School District 5 issued the following announcement on March 23.
Ryland Holt has been named the March Student of the Month for GCMS High School. Ryland is a top student in his class and is a member of the National Honor Society. He played key roles in the post season success of both the football and basketball teams, earning All Conference and All State honors, including being named to the Academic All State team in football. Ryland has scholarship offers from 3 D1 and 16 D2 schools to play basketball. He has signed with Minnesota State University in Mankato to study biology with a focus on Pre-Med. He is the son of the late Kara Holt and the grandson of Jon and Donna Holt. He was nominated by Ms Riley who said "He's a hard worker who has taken many of our most challenging courses. He knows about challenge and he knows it makes him better." Congratulations, Ryland! You make us #FalconProud
