Analysis: Potomac administrators rank 440th in state for average pay

Administrators in Potomac Community Unit School District 10 earn an average of $98,500 per year, ranking 440th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 2.6% higher than in 2014 and 20.8% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 8.2% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Vermilion County school district enrolled 156 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 156 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
