Analysis: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley administrators rank 233rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Community Unified School District 5 earn an average of $110,114 per year, ranking 233rd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 16% higher than in 2014 and 15% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 2.6% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Ford County school district enrolled 1010 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 166 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
