Report: Bement spent $11,144 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Bement Community Unit School District 5 is up 16.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Piatt County school district spent $9,546 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,144 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 383 to 312.

Bement's spending in 2017-18 was 16.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
