Report: Urbana spent $14,364 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Urbana School District 116 is up 6.9 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Champaign County school district spent $13,435 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $14,364 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 4077 to 4590.

Urbana's spending in 2017-18 was 7.7 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
