Tolono Community Unit School District 7 students suspended 37 times in a single school year

Tolono Community Unit School District 7 reported 37 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 37 students during the year. That equates to 2.2 percent of the 1,678 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes one incidents. For one incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 36 out-of-school suspensions, including 10 elementary or middle schoolers and 26 high schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 20 incidents. There were nine incidents of drugs. For 16 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
