St Joseph-Stanton Fire Protection District responded to 45 calls in 2017 - 4.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in St Joseph-Stanton included 35 fires - 10 structure fires, eight vehicle fires and 17 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $245,020 in fire loss - or about $7,001 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls, including two malicious calls and seven other false calls.
