Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The County Board of Vermilion County, State of Illinois met in the County Board Room in the Vermilion County Administration Building in the City of Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois on the 17th day of April, 2018.

Upon call of the roll, 24 were present, 3 absent. Mr. Bieritz, Mr. Johnson and Ms. Witzel were excused.

Chairman Marron and Bruce Stark presented Longevity Awards to Vermilion County employees for their many years of service.

III. Proclamation – Schlarman Girls Basketball

Nancy O’Kane presented the Schlarman Girls Basketball Team with a Proclamation that April 17th, 2018 has been declared Schlarman Girls Basketball State Championship Day.

Mr. Fourez stated that the finalized figures for the end of February, revenues are running ahead, expenses are running below budget. He stated he would like the Financial Advisor to speak at next month’s meeting and go in depth on Finances.

B. Ordinance: Amendment To The Combined Annual Budget And Appropriation Ordinance For Vermilion County Auditor’s Office

X. Executive Session:

Chairman Marron stated there was no need for Executive Session.

XI. Chairman’s Comments/Items Of Information

A. Happy Birthday to Frank Hoskins

B. Committee Chairperson’s Comments: Mr. Golden stated Committee on Committees will not meet, Mr. Fourez stated there will be a regular meeting for the Finance and Budget Committee. Mr. Green stated Health and Ed will not meet, Mr. Hart stated Judicial and Rules will not be a meet. Mr. Nesbitt stated Public Safety will not meet, and Mr. Morse stated Tax and Elections will not meet. Mr. Baughn stated Transportation will not meet, and Ms. Walls stated Technology will not meet, also all of the Board Members have received their tablets.

C. Board Member Comments: Ms. Phearn Butler stated that New Directions Treatment Center will be having a dinner at the New Life Banquet Center on Saturday April, 28th. Mr. Golden thanked Mr. Eakle for filling in at the Transportation Meetings. Mr. Eakle discussed how well the Schlarman Basketball Team had done along with the Coaches. Mr. Hart mentioned that Vic McFadden had organized Georgetown Township Clean Up Day on April 28th. Chairman Marron stated there was a meeting with the Tech Services Department and Building and Grounds in regards to the new building, the communications infrastructure had to be completely redone and on top of a new finance system. Tech Services and Building and Grounds have done a fantastic job on their hard work and dedication to get all of the offices into the Vermilion County Administration Building within in 6 months. Chairman Marron stated he was extremely proud of both departments as they have done amazing work. Formulating a plan on decommissioning the Annex and the EMA building, sorting through items to get rid of. Chairman Marron flew to Washington D.C. on a short trip in regards to the Vermilion County Housing Authority and is in no hurry to appoint new members to the Board until issues are resolved. All County Board Members now have their Tablets and Tech Services will assist anyone with questions and moving away from paper entirely unless asked on Agenda’s. Saturday April 28th was a fundraiser/rummage sale at the Tilton Community Center to support the Vermilion County Animal Shelter and Humane Society of Danville and Hoopeston Rescue Team.
