Report: Monticello spent $9,573 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Monticello Community Unit School District 25 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Piatt County school district spent $8,245 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,573 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1664 to 1564.

Monticello's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
