CHAMPAIGN COUNTY CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU: Weekend Preview May 4-6

Champaign County Convention And Visitors Bureau issued the following announcement on May 3.

The thermostat has stepped above 80 degrees this week and the sunshine and good weather are here to stay for this weekend. While April brought us Ebertfest, The Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon, and a laundry list of other Outside of Ordinary events, May has plenty in store for the upcoming weeks. This weekend will bring Cinco De Mayo celebrations, classic theatre, and classic cars! No matter what your tastes, the sun will be shining on your activities this weekend in the greater Champaign County area.

Outdoor Events

Allerton Plant Sale: Whether you're a master gardener or keep your plantlife simple, this 3-day plant sale will get you a jumpstart on your springtime garden.

Fighting Illini Softball: Enjoy the last 3 home games of the season as the Fighting Illini Softball team continues their winning ways against Nebraska.

Creative Containers: A Flower Gardening Workshop: Join University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator, Candice Hart, as she demonstrates how to take your summer garden containers to the next level with unique plant combinations and fun props. Come with your container gardening questions in hand and be set up for garden success this season.

Fighting Illini Baseball: Come out and cheer on the Fighting Illini Baseball team as they take on Ohio State!

Date Night

Babies and Brunch: Enjoy a delicious farm-to-table brunch, at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery.

Parkland Orchestra and Parkland Concert Band: A joint concert of the Parkland Orchestra and Parkland Concert Band, "A Bouquet of International Favorites," will be held Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. at the Harold and Jean Miner Theatre.

Hamilton Walker's Sunday Supper Club: Enjoy an amazing, upscaled 3-course meal without the upscale price.

Family Fun

Parkland Motorsports Car show: Classic and late-model custom cars, trucks, and other vehicles will be on display at this free public event, sponsored by the Parkland Motorsport Club.

C-U Comedy Club-R-Rated Show: With graduation upon us all, comics Scotty Harris and Trey Eilers from Springfield headline this week's show for all those that are now, truly adults.
