Analysis: Hoopeston pays $2.85 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Hoopeston Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.1 percent of the $183,663 the Hoopeston Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.85 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Hoopeston contributed $136,043 to the fund, which saw a $25,409 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $47,620, or 25.9 percent, in 2016.
