The calls in Danville included 168 fires - 60 structure fires, 30 vehicle fires and 47 other fires. The fire department also responded to 31 calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $350,113 in fire loss - or about $2,084 per fire.
The department also received 271 false calls, including four malicious calls and 267 other false calls.
The Danville Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 45 active employees and 84 retired or inactive employees, was $3,559,322 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $21,186 for every fire in 2016.
