Champaign County Lincoln Legacy Committee met April 25.

Call to Order
Wysocki called the meeting of the Lincoln Legacy Committee to order at 5:02 p.m.
Roll Call
Committee members present: Barbara Wysocki, Anke Woss, Kay Grabow, Kent Tucker
Others present: None
Approval of the Agenda W. Addendum
Tucker moved and Grabow seconded to approve the agenda, Motion approved.
Approval of the minutes
Grabow moved and Woss seconded to approve the January 31, 2017 meeting minutes, Motion approved.
Public Participation
None
Old Business
a, General update
Voss handed out flyers for the Chanute Centennial and local historic homes.
Voss said the County Museum opening was April 29th for the general public with a special Opening On April 28".
b. Review of and impressions of the local museums tour
Grabow said she was impressed by the local museums, but our group had the most participation.
Wysocki said each museum had different challenges and activities. She said Homer was research Oriented; Rantoul was collecting pieces; Grand Prairie was educating the public; Cattle Bank was just starting,
Voss Said We need to have money to publish a brochure for all museum which included hours, map, activities, etc. She said museums needed to be in the News-Gazette more. Grabow said museum information could be in the Concierge.
Voss said we need Tom Kascich to focus on Chanute.
Grabow said there is a N-G summer guide. Wysocki said it may be too late,
Voss said that October was Family History Month and Archives Month. She said the Urbana Free Library could have displays and food. She said every history institution could showcase who they are. She said We can send out notices. Wysocki said all groups Could bring information.
Woss said we need to set a date.
Grabow said we could have reminders of other events in the County as Well.
Voss said we could have the event every year. She said Matt Metcalf, WCIA, and Kascich Could promote the event. She said we need a name for the event.
Wysocki said she will contact the other groups,
C. School Court House tours
Wysocki said the schools needed transportation to the courthouse. She said we may have to retool the presentations at the court house to Suit changing audiences,
Voss asked if the Urbana schools were coming. Wysocki said there was no budget, Woss said We need fundraisers for history like the ones for sports. Wysocki said schools should pay for what fundraisers do.
NEW BUSINESS
a, LLC Archives
Tucker said he had accumulated an LLC archive. Woss said the UFL could take it.
Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting
The next LLC meeting will be July 25, 2017.
