Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

A special meeting of the Urbana City Council was held on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 6:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois.

Elected Officials Physically Present:

Maryalice Wu, Alderman Ward 1

Eric Jakobsson, Alderman Ward 2 (arrived at 6:19 pm)

Aaron Ammons, Alderman Ward 3 (arrived at 6:43 pm)

Bill Brown, Alderman Ward 4

Dennis Roberts, Alderman Ward 5

Dean Hazen, Alderman Ward 6

Jared Miller, Alderwoman Ward 7

Diane Wolfe Marlin, Mayor

Charles A. Smyth, City Clerk

Elected Officials Present Via Teleconference:

None

Elected Officials Absent:

None

Staff Present:

A. Call to Order and Roll Call

There being a quorum, Mayor Marlin called the meeting of the Urbana City Council to order at 6:15 pm.

B. Petitions and Communications

There was none.

C. Closed Session: To Consider Security Procedures, Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(8)

A motion to go into closed session to consider security procedures pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(8) was made by Alderman Brown and seconded by Alderman Roberts.

Voting Aye: Brown, Hazen, Miller, Roberts, Wu, Marlin

Opposed: none

Council moved into Closed Session.

(Jakobsson and Ammons arrived during the closed session)

The body went back into open session at 6:48 via motion by Brown, second by Hazen and unanimous voice vote.

D. Adjournment

There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Marlin declared the meeting adjourned at 6:49 p.m.
