Urbana ranked 713th in state in lottery ticket sales for June 2016

The City of Urbana had the 713th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of June 2016 -- down 43 spots from its May ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Urbana was $10.18 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Chambana Sun, Urbana generated $430,844.50 in net sales from its 23 lottery retailers in June 2016, compared to $538,559.50 in June 2015.

The City of Urbana is in Champaign County, and has a population of 42,311, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Champaign.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in June 2016 was $18,997.72.
