Champaign Police Detectives are searching for Carlos K. Davis, 40, formerly of Champaign, in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Aug. 30 around 12:22 p.m. at Central Illinois Bank, 302 W. Springfield Ave.
Detectives say an arrest warrant has been issued for Davis on charges of aggravated robbery with bond set at $100,000.
Workers inside the bank told police that the suspect came into the facility, gestured that he had a weapon without showing it, and demanded money. The bank teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left on foot.
Police say no one was hurt during the robbery and officers interviewed bank employees and other witnesses in the immediate area the gather a description of the suspect, later identified as Davis, who is described as a black male in his mid to late thirties, standing roughly 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build.
