The Thomasboro Village Board of Trustees met July 18 to authorize the award of a bid for the demolition of houses at 501 W. Frederick and 702 W. Morris.

Thomasboro Village Board of Trustees Special Board Meeting July 18, 2016

Thomasboro Village Hall 101 W. Main Street, Thomasboro, Illinois

A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Thomasboro was held on Monday, July 18, 2016, President Brad Morris presiding. President Morris called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.

Roll Call The Village Clerk called the roll, finding the following members physically present: Village President Brad Morris; and Trustees Jeff Robertson, Anthony Grilo, Kyle Henegar, Dustin Rhodes and Mickey Wilson. Trustee Anna Martin was absent.

Other Village officials present: Leon Albers, Treasurer; Tyler Martin, Public Works Superintendent, and Jeremy Reale, Village Clerk.

Interviews for Office Manager Position Prior to commencing with the interview process, the Board briefly discussed an appropriate starting wage for the position. It was agreed that the selected candidate would be hired at a starting rate of $12.00 per hour, with possible increase following the satisfactory completion of a ninety-day probationary period. It was further noted that the employee may need to be given some flexibility in working hours beyond regular business hours, particularly during busier times of the month such as when preparing monthly reports.

The Board then proceeded with interviews of Linda Chaney and Leslie Hoover.

Following the completion of the final interview, the Board discussed the qualifications of the two candidates. The general consensus was that Ms. Hoover had the requisite background in accounting needed to handle the responsibilities of the position.

Trustee Grilo moved to recommend the appointment of Leslie Hoover to the position of office manager. Trustee Robertson seconded the motion.

The Clerk called the roll:

YEAS: Robertson, Grilo, Henegar, Rhodes, and Wilson – 5 NAYS: None – 0 ABSENT: Martin – 1 Motion carried by roll call vote of 5 to 0, with 1 member absent.

Consider Bids for Demolition Trustee Grilo moved to authorize the award of bid for the demolition of houses at 501 W. Frederick and 702 W. Morris to Mark Pflugmacher in the amount of $14,000.00. Trustee Henegar seconded the motion.

The Clerk called the roll:

YEAS: Robertson, Grilo, Henegar, Rhodes, and Wilson – 5 NAYS: None – 0 ABSENT: Martin – 1 Motion carried by roll call vote of 5 to 0, with 1 member absent.

Consider Budget Line Item Transfer Trustee Rhodes moved to approve line item transfers of $4,000.00 from the Street Lighting account to the Parks account and $1,000.00 from the Maintenance Service Equipment account to the Parks account. Trustee Wilson seconded the motion.

The Clerk called the roll:

YEAS: Robertson, Grilo, Henegar, Rhodes, and Wilson – 5 NAYS: None – 0 ABSENT: Martin – 1 Motion carried by roll call vote of 5 to 0, with 1 member absent.

Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Board, Trustee Henegar moved to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Robertson seconded the motion. Motion carried viva voce vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:26pm.
