73.2 percent of Fisher Junior/Senior High School's 2015 grads enrolled in college

Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) records show that 73.2 percent of Fisher Junior/Senior High School's 2015 graduating class enrolled in college within 12 months of graduation.

The 2015 state average for students in public schools was 70 percent.

For Fisher Junior/Senior High School, its college enrollment rate marks an improvement over 2014, when 68.5 percent of its graduates chose post-secondary education.

Among high schools in Champaign, the class of 2015 college readiness rate at Mahomet-Seymour High School (68.6 percent) was higher than at Fisher Junior/Senior High School. Rantoul Township High School (29.2 percent), Heritage High School (39.0 percent), Urbana High School (40.4 percent) and St Joseph-Ogden High School (55.7 percent) were all lower.

The data, collected by the National Student Clearinghouse, includes two and four year colleges.

Enrollment at Fisher Junior/Senior High School in 2015 was 280. 40 (14.29 percent) were seniors.

Also according to ISBE, 53.7 percent of Fisher Junior/Senior High School seniors were "college ready" in 2015, versus an average of 46 percent statewide.

All students who score a 21 on the ACT qualify as "college ready."

Only 34.1 percent of Fisher Junior/Senior High School students were college ready in all four subjects, according to ISBE.
